Backyard Escape

This outdoor living space is a showcase of how to create rooms inside of a landscape. In this project, there are distinct areas where different activities may occur, separated by bold features like pergolas or privacy screens, which change the theme through use of materials or something as simple as a step or grade change.

As you can see, there is a room like an outdoor den by the warm propane fireplace, a casual seating area to mimic an entryway, as well as a comfortable dining area close to the indoor kitchen and other amenities. As the natural landscape does so well on this property, a few features such as plantings, privacy screen and layout were used as walls to bring solitude to this backyard escape.
